A Mobile Application Testing Community

Hi All,

This is vital. I working as test engineer for mobile applications. I am using the tool Tplan robot(http://www.t-plan.com/robot/).

Major Benefits of T-Plan Robot Enterprise

  • Platform independence (Java). T-Plan Robot runs on, and automates all major systems, such as Windows, Mac, Linux, Unix, Solaris and mobile platforms.
  • Wide range of testable applications. As automation runs at the OS desktop level, the application technology is not relevant. The solution can automate Java, C++/C#, .NET applications, web applications (browser testing) and command line interfaces as well as processes usually considered impossible to automate, such as OS installation or mobile application testing.
  • Support of Java test scripts as well as a proprietary scripting language.
  • Record & Replay capability.
  • Support of testing over the RFB protocol (better known as VNC).
  • Ability to perform black box GUI testing of mobile phones (Windows Mobile, Symbian, iPhone).
  • Easy to customize and integrate thanks to open architecture with a generic plugin interface and well documented programming interfaces.
  • Tight integration with T-Plan Professional.
  • Excellent support services.

VMWARE  is a too big file 200 MB size.  Seems like Lot of set up required for this tool

first of all you have to install vmware image

in vmware you should download or copy android sdk

then and run the sdk manager in vmware

now connect the tplan to that vmware machine

when you run the robot.bat file it asks server(port) and password

the server port number is your vmware machine ip address

and click on connect

tplan will connect to that machine if the machine has running android emulator tplan shows that emulator.

Yeah coding knowledge is required. It is using java but simple. It is work on Linux(ubuntu) and also work on windows machine. It needs to connect the device through Real VNC server in our machine and veency for ios, droid VNC for android.

Just gone through the website. Its very fast , I guess it takes much time to learn isn't it? Is coding knowledge required for this? Does it work on only Linux ? It seems like  many things are required for  setting up support environment ....
