  • JSON (JavaScript Object Notation) is a format that stores and transports the data and it is used when data transferred to a web page from server.
    - It is language independent
    - It is easy to understand
    - It is a lightweight interchange format

    Its syntax is extracted from JS object notation, however the JSON format is text only. qa testing company can use any programming language to write code for reading and generating JSON data.

    JSON Example:

    {
    "students":[
    {"firstName":"Maria", "lastName":"Smith"},
    {"firstName":"Lisa", "lastName":"Matthew"},
    {"firstName":"Courtney", "lastName":"Green"}
    ]
    }

    In above example:
    "firstName":"Maria" is JSON data (a Name and a Value)
    {"firstName":"Maria", "lastName":"Smith"} is JSON Object

    and the complete example falls underJSON Arrays.
