Hi Friends, Hav a look @ this 1.As a tester we hav 2 kno abt these SIP response codes.

SIP responses are the codes used by Session Initiation Protocol for communication. They complement the SIP Requests, which are used to initiate action such as a phone conversation.

  • SIP responses are the codes used by Session Initiation Protocol for communication. We must be aware of these SIP codes. Say for session initiation , We may faced some timeout exceptions due to poor code or etc in those conditions we may get these response codes. When message is too large then we may face 513 error code.So if u had a chance of viewing the developer code then u can review and compare it. In other words we can call it as signalling protocol.

Session Initiation Protocol (SIP)  widely used for controlling communication sessions such as voice and video calls over Internet Protocol (IP). The protocol can be used for creating, modifying and terminating two-party (unicast) or multiparty (multicast) sessions. Sessions may consist of one or several media streams.
Other SIP applications include video conferencing, streaming multimedia distribution, instant messaging, presence information, file transfer and online games.

VOIP - VoIP is the transmission of voice and call control data over the Internet. In other words, this technology allows you to make phone calls over the Internet.
