  • Verify whether app showing an alert message to the user regarding the n/w status ?

  • During testing of mobile app, we must test network of the app, which uses the network.

    Network%20Testing%20Checklist.docx

The above link provided Sonal, contains the below Scenarios

    Some scenarios:

    • Disconnect the network and open the app.
    • Open the app and disconnect the network -> now tap on anywhere, app should not be

    crashed.

    • Open the app with very low network, there should be some time out .
    • Open the app with proper network and then tap on anywhere with low network.
    • Open the app -> if we have any loading function then disconnect the network during

loading -> after sometime connect the network, now loading should be resumed.

    • Test the app with only edge network.
    • Test the app with only wi-fi network.
    • Test the app with both edge & wi-fi network.
    • Check how much network usage is used to download & upload the contents of the app.

battery testing: find out how much energy is being used under different network conditions.

hand-in hand-out: find out how the app handles a situation where there is a loss of wifi or edge rapidly or slowly.

invalid credentials: find out what occurs when the customer doesnt pay the bill

wifi requires web based authentication. Sometime to get on to a wiif network the user must go to a website first and agree to conditions. Find out what happens in the period of time between joining the network and going to the website

wifi protocols used: check WEP, WPA, WPA2, etc. with n types B types and g types

is the data encryptied even under open network conditions?

Check how it is behaving when u moved Wi-Fi to 2g or 3g network because once wi-fi should close it should not moved directly to 2g u have to start uploading again it can not resume automatically.

Check the app when network up and down like travelling in a train or moving in a lift.

one more thing is imp to get the right message to the user.
