How to take screenshot of the application.

Hey!!

I wanted to know how do you guys take a screen shot of any issue/bug found during testing of any android application?

I tried a number of applications but majority of them set a timer when a screen shot could be taken.

Any type of help will be appreciated.

Thanks & Regards

Abhimanyu B

  • Hi Aman,

    1. Install android SDK to computer.

    2. Attach Device to computer via cable

    3. Start up DDMS.bat from the tools folder in the android sdk

    4. Once the DDMS is started, there is a menu item called "Device"; open it and select "Screen capture" and enjoy an instant screenshot. You can also use the shortcut: ctrl+s.

Option 2: Use a digital camera in macro mode :)

    Have fun,

    Aman

    Hi Abhimanyu,

In Android you can take screenshot from DDMS.

    Follow below steps

    1. Connect your device to PC using data cable or start an emulator.

    2. Start Eclipse.

    3. Open DDMS -> Select Devices

    4. Devices tab will display list of the connected devices and emulator.

    5. Select your device from listed devices.

    6. At right top corner there will be an icon of Camera.

    7. Click on that icon.

    8. It will open a window (Device Screen Capture), showing your connected device updated screen.

    9. Click on "Save" button.

    Your job is done... :)
